At First Step II Inc. we make learning fun. Our approach is Learning through Play where children are actively engaged. When a learning environment encourages exploration and discovery, children develop a sense of trust and belonging. They feel important and valued when others listen to them seek out their own ideas, and allow them to express themselves. This type of environment is Learning through Play. Curriculum is developed around the children’s developmental needs and interest to reach certain goals. This curriculum provides for the whole child; combining social, emotional, physical and cognitive learning through an integrated approach. Each of these domains is interconnected and impacts the others. Each lesson creates a learning experience for the child that will stimulate the child’s imagination by balancing child centered and teacher directed activities.
