Hi, my name is Carrie Halvorson and I am the owner and director at Kids 1st Childcare. I have been caring for children for over ten years. My qualifications include;

Certified Childcare Director by the State of Florida
CPR Certified
Completed the state nutrition guidelines
Over 10 years experience owning and directing childcare centers

As a family owned and operated organization, Kids 1ST welcomes positive family involvement. My husband and I have two beautiful children (Brandon is eleven and Trenton is seventeen). We promise to nurture your child as if he or she was our own.

MY PHILOSOPHY
My belief is that all children deserve lots of love, attention and a safe environment to explore and grow. At Kids 1st, we allow children to have hands-on learning experiences. This fosters and challenges age appropriate development. We read to the children everyday and believe that positive reinforcement is important for children to develop self esteem. Children need an environment that supports free expression and stimulates learning.

Most importantly children need to have fun and at Kids 1st we often have ice cream parties, bring outside community professionals (fireman, police officers, swat team, cheerleaders, etc.) to the center for the kids to interact with and learn about. We have movie days and play lots of exciting games, children learn best from experiencing the world around them.

At Kids 1st we recognize that you have a difficult schedule and support parents the best we can. We offer drop-in care, early drop-off care and extended care so that your schedule can be accommodated. We recognize the importance of work, and the stress and demands placed on parents. We strive to make it easier on parents by giving them the knowledge that their children are in good hands.
